As we all continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, perspective makes a tremendous difference, doesn’t it? The way we filter this experience, how we think, act, and choose to spend our time matter greatly. It’s also essential to choose wisely who we allow to influence our perceptions and our thinking during this time, as this simple choice can feed our fears or turn up the volume on HOPE.
Shortly after the start of the pandemic, and recognizing the importance of emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing to remain effective and healthy, I started a column titled, A Moment of Wellness. It’s published weekly by the Florida Medical Association and gives me the opportunity to offer hope to those caring for patients during this stressful time. The short essays are intended to be a breath of fresh air for my colleagues and their teams, and for everyone caring for others. I also include links to relevant articles and resources to enhance the practice of medicine and our personal and professional wellbeing.
The second article in the series is Hope Emerging. The simple practice I share is a meaningful way to stay connected and hopeful. See what you think, stay well, and reach out to me anytime!
